    Primary Purpose
    The primary purpose of this position is to focus on providing teachers with the pedagogical support to effectively leverage technology for science in the classroom. This position requires a student-centered learning philosophy, creative problem-solving abilities, interpersonal and communication skills, and eagerness to take a leadership role. The work involves work directly with classroom teachers on the delivery of high quality instruction. The instructional coach will work with building administration, district level staff, and other instructional coaches to strengthen instructional and increase student learning. The instructional coach will support data findings and provide instructional coaching as an integral part of the instructional team. This Position will be required to have a strong knowledge of effective teaching practices that address differentiated instruction and the digital learner. This position will serve as a liaison between campus and district staff to implement district instructional initiatives, provide job-embedded professional development, and accomplish specific campus/district goals.
    The instructional coach will demonstrate expertise in the following areas:
    • Content knowledge
    • Instructional strategies and best practices
    • Differentiation of instruction
    • Classroom management
    • Data interpretation
    • Professional learning delivery/facilitation
    • Integration of technology
    Qualifications/Skills:
    Education/Certification:
    • Bachelor's degree in related field.
    • Valid Texas Teacher Certificate or Teaching Certificate from out of state appropriate for position.
    • Certification must meet requirements for becoming and remaining qualified for this position in a manner required by Federal and/or State law.
    Special Knowledge/Skills:
    • Strong content knowledge.
    • Leadership experience (such as campus lead teacher, team leader, department chair, curriculum writer, etc...).
    • Experience with developing and delivering professional learning.
    • Strong technology skills including technology integration.
    • Strong data analysis skills.
    • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Ability to work with and lead adult learners.
    • Willingness to acquire and apply new skills.
    Experience:
    • Three (3) years successful teaching experience.
    Major Duties and
    Responsibilities:
    Collaboration and Communication:
    • Collaborate with Digital Promise staff and school leadership to develop and execute strategic plans.
    • Facilitate teacher and student leadership teams.
    • Meet regularly with individual teachers and teams to collaborate and support the delivery of instruction.
    • Develop connections and builds relationships with camps staff.
    • Work collaboratively with teachers to develop lessons and refine curriculum.
    • Serve as a communication link between campus and Teaching and Learning. Leadership and Organizational Development, and Technology.
    • Work in collaboration with campus administration, content and intervention specialties, and others as a part of the campus instructional leadership team.
    • Exhibit professionalism at all times and sees collaborative work as a process to derive at a solution that will aid student learning.
    • Work collaboratively on an adult team possessing varied learning and teaching styles.
    Curriculum:
    • Ensure the direction, goals, and objectives of the district are understood and implemented.
    • Model district-supported instructional strategies/lessons based on district curriculum.
    • Advise campus administration in planning, implanting and evaluating interventions and extensions for individual and extensions for individual students.
    Data:
    • Work collaboratively with the Instructional Officer of Research, Student Achievement and Data Analysis to analyze the interpret assessment data to improve instruction.
    • Analyze data and facilities discussions about student/campus/district data with campus leadership and content/grade level teams.
    • Work closely with teacher’s using district data to guide instructions to meet identified campus/student needs.
    • Prepare reports to assist the campus and district in evaluating the effectiveness of support to campuses.
    Professional Development:
    • Plan and facilitate professional learning based on the SBISD and campus needs.
    • Build campus need capacity through on-site professional learning based on data analysis.
    • Mentor teachers.
    • Attend district meeting and professional learning.
    • Continues to grow professionally.
    • Provide professional development to various stakeholder groups in methods of integrating technology in the delivery of curriculum.
    Technology:
    • Understand the digital learner and promotes and models digital learning.
    • Assist in integrating technology in the SBISD instruction.
    • Provide leadership and technical experience to campus level administration, teachers, and students for effective use instructional technology.
