Spring Arbor is Hiring a Food Service Director Near Wilmington, NC

Spring Arbor Senior Living in Wilmington is seeking a qualified Food Service Director. The Food Service Director has the responsibility of creating appealing and nutritious meals for the residents and staff at Spring Arbor. This Director position will oversee, and initiate duties related to food service while supervising food service staff members. The Food Service Director will meet all regulatory requirements, health standards, and maintain quality food service within budget, while assisting in maintaining a positive physical and social environment in the community.

WHAT YOU WILL DO!

  • Maintain a safe and sanitary environment; ensure food service staff are following health inspection regulations
  • Supervise and delegate responsibilities to food service team including scheduling
  • Complete team member performance evaluations per company schedule
  • Interview, select, and train food service employees
  • Manage employee relations (e.g. coach, mentor, discipline, etc.)
  • Monitor and maintain the budget using a spend-down sheet
  • Determine and order food, supplies and equipment
  • Prepare meals according to planned menus

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • 3-5 years’ experience of cooking and preparing foods – preferably in a healthcare, hospitality, or service environment
  • Culinary arts degree preferred
  • Have or obtain CPR and First-Aid certifications, Serv-Safe certification is required
