We are currently looking for a CNC operator responsible for the operation of the Eastman and Axyz Router machines to cut core, rolled glass, core mat, foam and plastic while meeting production goals and high quality standards.

What you will do:

  • Perform all assigned CNC operations meeting daily and weekly production goals while maintaining high quality standards
  • Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to management
  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follows prescribed safety procedures
  • Transport materials to different areas of CNC shop
  • Perform inspection of machined products, and documents results
  • Complete and maintain paperwork for parts
  • Assist in other work areas in upholstery department as needed

Requirements:

  • Experience operating CNC equipment and setting up parts to the machine.
  • Working knowledge with calipers, dial indicators and other measuring tools
  • Experience using small hand tools
  • Knowledgeable in the areas of material cutting, sewing, upholstery, and foam assembly
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team; ability to follow schedules
  • Detail oriented, proactive and able to complete tasks independently with minimal supervision in a fast paced environment
  • Advanced time management and organizational skills
  • High School diploma or equivalent

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience working with leather and vinyl in marine industry 
  • Experience using the Eastman, Axyz, and Router systems
  • Working history with CAD/CAM software
  • Prior use and knowledge of basic G and M codes for machine operations

Work Environment:

This job operates in a manufacturing plant environment. Employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in this environment can be loud. Must be able to work in a hot, humid environment. 

Physical Demands:

  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs independently and up to 50 lbs with a team member
  • Requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, stoop, bend for 8 hours or more daily
  • Requires the ability to hold and move items with hands and visually inspect material and finished product
