1.0SUMMARY OF DUTIES
Produce components by assembling parts and subassemblies.
2.0REPORTS TO / SUPERVISES

3.0RESPONSIBILITIES
This position will have the following general/minimum responsibilities:
•Understand and follow safety policies and procedures of the shop.
•Conforms to shop quality practices and procedures.
•Prepares work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, drawings and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools and materials.
•Positions parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements.
•Verifies specifications by measuring completed components.
•Resolves assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications, notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources if needed.
•Keeps equipment operational by completing preventative maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, calling for repairs.
•Practices good housekeeping skills and properly disposes of waste according to safety and environmental policies.
•Other duties as assigned by the Foreman.
4.0EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE
The following education, experience and knowledge are preferred for this position:
•Ability to follow shop procedures, quality procedures and safely practices.
•Must have verbal skills with fluency for the responsibilities assigned.
•Five plus years of experience in assembly is preferred.
•Skilled trade – Millwright and Screw pipe.
•Knowledge of tools and equipment.
•Owns tools to complete job task.
•Proficient at reading and interpreting P&ID’s and GA’s.
•Works with minimal supervision.
5.0WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
•Spends 100% of time in the shop.
•Exposure to possible shop hazards including but not limited to welding fumes, welding arc flash, skin irritation, high noise level, debris from welding, grinding and possible exposure to hazards that would be considered typical in a fabrication industry.
•Perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs. Standing 80% of the time, walking, climbing, bending, stooping, and heavy lifting, pushing and pulling while handling material not exceeding forty-five pounds.
