A long-standing client of ours has engaged our firm in an exclusive search for a Business Intelligence (BI) Manager to join their data analytics team and lead the development and implementation of data-driven solutions for their business. The company is a niche retailer founded over 150 years ago in Philadelphia and continues to be an industry leader. This is a full-time, direct-hire position and the work will be on-site at their offices in Exton, PA.

The Role You ll Play

As the internal Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Business Intelligence (BI) strategy and execution, you will manage a small team of BI Analysts, oversee the design and maintenance of data warehouses and dashboards, and ensure the quality and accuracy of data reports and insights. You will also collaborate with various stakeholders across the organization to understand their data needs and provide strategic recommendations based on data analysis.

The data environment is undergoing some transformation efforts, including the implementation of Tableau and the formation and migration to a new Azure Data warehouse. The legacy environment is SQL Server 2016 (and they still need to get reports off that to the new DW). As the BI Manager, you will be initially focused on the tactical side of getting into Tableau and SQL and ensuring the backlog of reports is being addressed. You will also coordinate with the vendor doing the DW implementation to ensure the new environment is set up correctly and addresses the needs of the business.

• Manage/mentor a small team of BI analysts, providing guidance, feedback, and coaching
• Ensure the design and development of data warehouses, ETL processes, and data models follow best practices and industry standards
• Create and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Tableau and other BI tools
• Ensure the reliability, security, and accessibility of data and BI solutions
• Perform data quality checks and data validation to ensure data accuracy and integrity
• Analyze data and provide actionable insights and recommendations to support business decision-making
• Communicate complex data findings and solutions to various audiences in a clear and concise manner
• Stay updated on the latest trends and developments in BI and data analytics

Background Profile:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or related field
• At least 5 years of experience in BI, data analytics, or data engineering
• At least 2 years of experience in managing a BI team or leading BI projects
• Proficient in Tableau and other BI tools, such as Power BI, SSRS
• Strong knowledge of SQL and data warehouse technologies, such as SQL Server, Azure SQL, Big Query, Synapse, and Azure Data Factory (ADF)
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Attention to detail and quality orientation
