Spine Center of Excellence is Hiring a Registered Nurse, Operating Room Near Bossier, LA

POSITION SUMMARY: This position is a professional licensed Registered Nurse position which circulates throughout surgical event within the facility. This is a day shift position, working Monday through Friday.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Patient assessment – collection, interpretation, recording & communication of data relevant to patient care within the operating room
  • Attends staffing and case conferences
  • Participates in educational meetings
  • Performs other duties as assigned

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS/JOB DIMENSIONS:
Work additional hours on short notice as requested by doctor or supervisor in order to accommodate staffing emergencies, employee absences, and fluctuations in business levels.

Perform any and all related job duties at the request of PACU Manager.

Uniform appearance in conformance with the standards which may be established by Spine Center of Excellence is essential to the successful performance of this position.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

KNOWLEDGE:

  • Good organizational skills.
  • Good time management skills and ability to be self directed.
  • Ability to demonstrate good judgement.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • 1 year of recent operating room experience, orthopedic and spine experience preferred
  • Able to maintain extensive standing, moderated sitting and retracting
  • Physically able to perform CPR

CERTIFICATE/LICENSE:

  • Current RN State Licensure or Multi-state Licensure
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications

PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Combination of standing, walking, lifting, stooping, bending, reaching activities. Requires normal vision range. Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds. Will need to assist in transfer of patients. Performs complex and varied tasks requiring independent knowledge. Occasional stress from balancing multiple demands.
