Spiegelworld is Hiring a Host Steady Extra Near Las Vegas, NV

About the Role

Spiegelworld is looking for experienced Hosts to join the team at our newest venture, Diner Ross, at the LINQ in Las Vegas. The Host is responsible for greeting/checking in guests, and guiding or escorting them to their destination. This includes escorting guests to their table in restaurant, theater, bar, elevators/stairs or closest washroom. The ideal candidate should have solid organizational and people skills to make sure guests have a positive experience from the moment they arrive until they depart. Ultimately, you will ensure excellent and personalized guest service as you create a welcoming and energetic atmosphere that is sure to get their experience off on the right foot! The role involves crowd control and maintaining flow for safety. This is a steady extra position so the schedule will depend on the team's needs, and the pay is $21.25/ hour for the duration of the introductory period. 

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests in a warm and friendly manner upon arrival
  • Handle initial friendly reception to the guests upon arrival and provide a prompt courteous escort to a dining table.
  • Provide exceptional service.
  • Answer telephones and take reservations on reservation system via ipad
  • Utilize the guest's name when applicable.
  • Communicate with the Venue Manager/server on any pertinent information regarding guest or reservation
  • Maintain professional grooming and appearance and act as a role model according to established rotation procedure, distribute menus and introduce employees.
  • Answer any guest questions and refer them, if necessary, to appropriate management employees.
  • Monitor guests’ needs, ensuring all requests are promptly fulfilled in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Make every effort to learn guest names and use names.
  • Maintain professional rapport with marketing hosts and communicate needs to prioritize services.
  • Demonstrate promptness, efficiency, and courteousness to guests in accordance with Spiegelworld standards.
  • Keep abreast of all food & beverage venues and menus
  • Using the table management system, manage incoming reservations and venue floor.
  • Assist with daily administrative work as per direction of the venue manager.
  • Manage the flow of guests, especially during peak hours, to maintain order and prevent congestion
  • Operate as a member of a team: help others and request help as needed.
  • Assist in the training of new employees as requested.
  • Taking part in pre-service duties, closing duties and side work
  • Ensure host stand and venue are cleaned to create a positive first impression for our guests
  • Act swiftly and responsibility incase of emergencies, such as assisting with evacuations or providing guidance to guests on safety protocols.
  • Use two-way radio’s to communicate to other hosts and management
  • Actively engage in our antiracist commitment and internal practices by participating in offered learnings, engaging in conversations around Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Accessibility, and helping us maintain a safe and welcoming workspace. 
  • Successful background check clearance prior to hire
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You Bring

  • At least one year experience as a host/usher in a high volume restaurant or theater. Previous experience working in an energetic, hospitality driven restaurant or nightlife venue is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate in English.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Polished appearance and demeanor.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain full knowledge and understanding of company and department rules and regulations, policies and procedures.
  • A highly motivated and energetic personality with a strong commitment to excellence in hospitality.
  • Ability to anticipate guests' needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests in a timely manner.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize guest needs, while maintaining composure in high stress situations
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, nights, weekends and holidays to accommodate restaurant and theater event schedules.
  • Collaborative attitude to work effectively as part of a team, support colleagues and contribute to a positive work environment.
  • Must be able to open doors for guests and climb stairs between multi-level venue
  • Must have valid work authorization for the US
  • At least 18 years of age.

  • Work is performed in a high volume professional foodservice/ theater environment.
  • Must be tolerant to varying conditions of noise level, temperature, illumination and air quality. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
  • Must be able to open doors for guests and climb stairs between multi-level venue
  • Able to stand and walk for up to 8 hours and ability to climb statues between levels in venue
  • Able to lift or carry up to 50lbs.
