About the Role

Spiegelworld is looking for experienced Cocktail Servers to join the team of our newest venture, Diner Ross at the LINQ in Las Vegas. The Cocktail Server is responsible for providing excellent guest service in bar & lounge setting. Your main duties are to take drink orders, deliver drink orders, interacting with guests to ensure satisfaction, promoting and upselling menu items, processing payment and maintaining a clean and organized work space. You will be required to check identification to ensure that guests are of legal drinking age, and monitoring guest intoxication levels to promote responsible consumption. This position reports directly to the Bar Manager. This is a steady extra position so the schedule will depend on the team's needs and the pay is $13.72/hour plus tips for the duration of the introductory period. 

Responsibilities

  • Staying guest-focused and providing exceptional service by making a positive impression on the guest.
  • Serving beverages, food and amenities in all areas of the FOH & VIP areas
  • Participating in in-house modeling programs, special events, banquet events, social media marketing, and model/presenter tasks and promotions
  • Checking identification to ensure customers are the legal age to purchase alcohol. Maintaining awareness of all state laws pertaining to the sale and service of alcoholic beverages
  • Ensuring proper set-up and maintenance of stations. Perform all aspects of opening and closing duties.
  • Handling cash, credit/debit card transactions, Reward points and Comps ensuring charges are accurate and returning correct change to patrons.
  • Adhering to staff privileges and responsibilities
  • Maintaining professionalism in both appearance and behavior at all times
  • Adhering to seasonal uniform and appearance requirements.
  • Actively engage in our antiracist commitment and internal practices by participating in offered learnings, engaging in conversations around Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Accessibility, and helping us maintain a safe and welcoming workspace.
  • Performing on all position responsibilities and requirements.

What You Bring

Required: 

  • Minimum of 1 year of Cocktail Server experience at a high-end bar or restaurant and high school diploma or GED.
  • Knowledge of spirits, wine, beer and most especially craft cocktails is necessary.
  • Experience with cash handling, credit card transactions and casino rewards and comps 
  • Positive, engaging personality, and professional appearance. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to enforce company policies regarding the consumption of alcohol
  • Able to stand and walk for up to 8 hours, utilizing staircase as necessary to move between lockers and work space
  • Must be teamwork oriented and self-motivated
  • Hazards may include, but are not limited to, slips, falls
  • Effectively communicates verbally with staff, while reading, speaking and fully comprehending English
  • Comfortable improvising in the moment as part of the guest experience.
  • Able to work in a club/nightlife atmosphere with loud music and flashing lights.
  • Maintaining any necessary licensing and work cards required, present and future. Must maintain proper safety and sanitation standards.
  • Candidates must have valid work authorization for the US
  • Must audition with a peculiar or unexpected talent 
  • Must be able to improvise at a moment’s notice when interacting with guests.
  •  Must be flexible enough to work a variety of shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Successful background check clearance prior to hire
  • Must be at least 21 years of age

Preferred:

  • Experience with classic/craft cocktails, beer, wine and champagne
  • Experience with cocktails and wine on draft
  • Previous experience working in an energetic, hospitality driven restaurant or nightlife venue.

  • Work is performed in a high volume professional foodservice/ theater environment.
  • Must be tolerant to varying conditions of noise level, temperature, illumination and air quality. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
  • Able to stand and walk for up to 8 hours and ability to climb statues between levels in venue
  • Able to lift or carry up to 50lbs.
