Scope:
We are looking for an Audio Technician On-Call to join the team at the Atomic Saloon within the Venetian in Las Vegas. This position is responsible for maintaining the artistic design and evolution of the audio design. The Audio Tech is responsible for the diligent maintenance, inspection, and operation of the lighting equipment onsite according to company policies. This position reports directly to the Production Manager. This is an On-Call role, so the schedule will be based on the team's needs.

Primary Job Duties

  • Oversee day to day operation of Audio equipment and console;
  • Inspect and Maintain audio equipment to insure safe and consistent operation, including cleaning and routine maintenance;
  • Work closely with the Sound Designer, Production Manager, and other Department Heads to maintain the artistic vision of the show;
  • Aid in the evolution of the production by making changes to show flow as required
  • Maintain documentation of show cues, cue track, and the sound rig, as directed;
  • Train additional operators to maintain coverage for department
  • Support special events, including installation of new audio show elements;
  • Participate in all required safety and emergency rescue trainings, as directed;
  • Actively engage in our antiracist commitment and internal practices by participating in offered learnings, engaging in conversations around Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Accessibility, and helping us maintain a safe and welcoming workspace.

Requirements

  • Bachelors in Theatre, Sound Design preferred, or equivalent work experience
  • 5 years minimum experience with sound in a live theatre production show.
  • Dante and CTS certifications are a bonus.
  • Knowledge of networking, gain staging, basic electronics troubleshooting, and show control such as MIDI, LTC/MTC, or OSC.
  • Experience with programming and operating QLab, Dante audio networking, Yamaha digital consoles, RF coordination with Shure Wireless Workbench, and digital audio workstations such as Pro Tools, Reaper, Logic, or other DAWs.
  • Working knowledge of standard office software (word processing and spreadsheets);
  • OSHA 10 General Industry certificated completed in compliance with NV state law;
  • Must be able to perform physical tasks including (but not limited to) standing, kneeling, crouching - sometimes for extended periods of time - and lift and carry 50lbs unassisted;
  • Applicant should be comfortable working safely on a ladder or personnel lift;
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Must be team-oriented and self-motivated;
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in an always changing, never dull, creative environment that creates memorable moments;
  • Passion for ensuring you deliver the highest standards consistently;
  • Comfortable improvising in the moment as part of the constantly changing environment;
  • Must be comfortable working in an immersive environment with loud music and flashing lights;
  • Able to work a flexible schedule with the ability to work all shifts, weekends, and holidays;
  • Must maintain proper safety and sanitation standards;
  • Must have valid work authorization for the US

  • Work is performed in a high volume professional foodservice and theater environment.
  • Must be tolerant to varying conditions of noise level, temperature, illumination, and air quality. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.

  • Requires prolonged sitting or standing and mobility.
  • Requires bending and reaching.
  • Requires transporting, pushing, pulling, and maneuvering items weighing up to 50 lbs.
