Job Title: Material Procurement Specialist (SAP)
Location: Orange, MA
Shift Timings: 1st Shift - (8 AM to 5 PM eastern time)
We are looking for a Material Procurement Specialist.
· As the Material Manager for our growing Rolling Stock operation, you will collaborate with Commodity Managers, Quality Management, and Engineering to analyze suppliers and select the most suitable vendors who can deliver high-quality products at competitive prices.
· We will rely on your outstanding negotiation skills to create value concerning key metrics such as lead time, cost, and quality.
· In this role, you will drive performance with our suppliers, collaborate with internal teams to ensure procurement data within our MRP system is correct, and make your mark within a team focused on winning, succeeding, and impacting.
Responsibilities:
· Issuing requests for quotation and conducting negotiations and supplier selection for project demand.
· Request for Quotation via e-platform (e-auctions, e-bidding)
· Release of supplier purchasing agreements and ensure incorporation of contractual requirements.
· Ensures updates of data to support project calculation with reliable material cost data and Lead-time data.
· Placing and managing purchasing agreements with vendors, ensuring complete PO documentation.
· Updating and monitoring ordered components up to First Article Inspection (FAI)
· Responsible for Project Level Commodity Budget
· Resolution to issues about pricing-related invoicing issues
· Work closely with multi-departments and/or cross-functional areas to troubleshoot and resolve problems on Purchase Order.
· Facilitates cost reductions needed in coordination with Commodity Management for the project to achieve overall material improvement.
· Reviews and analyzes Engineering changes with each supplier regarding cost impact.
· Quarterly supplier evaluation and regular supplier performance monitoring
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:
· BS/BA in a related discipline, or advanced degree, where required, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certification may be required in some areas.
· 5 years of work experience in procurement is preferred in a manufacturing environment.
