Spero Financial Federal Credit Union is Hiring a Member Service Advisor III - Verdae Near Greenville, SC

Role:
As a Member Service Advisor you are a key contributor to the financial success of our company. You are responsible for assisting members with all elements of their financial needs, from account transactions and inquiries to lending and investment opportunities. This is accomplished by actively engaging members at their first point of contact to identify their financial needs.
Through your strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail and professionalism you will develop full member relationships by analyzing member needs and recommending solutions. You will consult with and assist members on investment options using basic financial planning tools to further develop the relationship. In building full member relationships, you will proactively identify members’ financial needs and turn those needs into business opportunities. You will also deliver on Spero Financial’s member service experience while promoting and educating members on self-service channel options to make banking easier.
With strong communication skills and adaptability, you will support the mission, vision and values, and work with integrated branch and multi-channel teams proactively supporting each other. You will follow the business model and Service Protocols when referring members, preparing for meetings and uncovering opportunities. You will make outbound member contacts for investment renewals as well as assigned marketing campaign calls and perform other duties as required.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
*Responsible for assisting members with all elements of their financial needs, from account transactions and inquiries to lending and investment opportunities. This is accomplished by actively engaging members at their first point of contact to identify their financial needs
*Develop full member relationships by analyzing member needs and recommending solutions; consult with and assist members on investment options using basic financial planning tools to further develop the relationship; proactively identify members’ financial needs and turn those needs into business opportunities; deliver on Spero Financial’s member service experience while promoting and educating members on self-service channel options to make banking easier.
*Support the mission, vision and values, and work with integrated branch and multi-channel teams proactively supporting each other; follow the business model and Service Protocols when referring members, preparing for meetings and uncovering opportunities; make outbound member contacts for investment renewals as well as assigned marketing campaign calls and perform other duties as required.
*Open accounts, process investments & lending transactions; Conduct loan interviews and collect and compile relevant information for credit risk adjudication; Process member transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, transfers, bill payments, wires, drafts, term deposits, etc.
*Adhere to all standards and regulatory requirements; take on the responsibility of mentoring and training new/inexperienced Member Service Advisors as needed; Actively participate in problem solving to assist in making decisions, implement solutions and adopt change.
*Perform additional duties as assigned.
Performance Measurements:
1. To enthusiastically support the Vision, Mission and Core Values of the Credit Union.
2. To adhere to policies, procedures, compliance, safety, security and Cyber-security as they relate to the job and work assignments.
3. To actively participate in the Credit Union's sales and service program.
4. To meet assigned Deposit/New Member goals and loan referral goals.
5. To maintain knowledge of all Credit Union products, services, policies and procedures.
6. To inform manager of key operating issues affecting the branch.
7. To meet required deadlines.
8. To provide timely, accurate, courteous and professional service to all members.
9. To maintain a professional work environment and professional appearance.
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience: Two to Five years of similar or related experience.
Education: A high school education or GED.
Interpersonal Skills: Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.
Other Skills:
Physical Requirements Is able to bend, sit, and stand in order to perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs.
Work Environment Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise.
