Project Engineer Internship Opportunity at Spencer ConstructionAs an intern at Spencer Construction, you will have the opportunity to:
- Assist in managing project controls to ensure compliance with contract, budget, schedule, forecasting, and job costing.
- Assist in the development, updating, and maintenance of the project schedule to ensure work is completed on time and under budget.
- Collaborate with superintendents and foreman to learn Heavy Construction field operations including work means and methods, productions, resource allocation, and heavy equipment operations.
- Participate in monthly forecasting of revenue and cost.
- Accumulate all necessary data and assist in preparing monthly pay estimates.
- Assist in coordinating and scheduling shop drawings and submittals.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and administration of project engineering procedures and other work-controlling documents to ensure clarification of roles.
- Assist in processing and managing material deliveries, ensuring that materials received are properly inspected for quantity and quality and in compliance with contract documents.
- Assist in managing and negotiating subcontractor and material contracts.
- Assist in representing the company or project during client and project management meetings to ensure effective communication.
- Work closely with field construction personnel (Superintendents, Foremen, and Crews) in a collaborative manner.

Will be required to work on project sites and operate vehicles, trailers, machinery, equipment and other tools within local, state and federal safety guidelines.
This position operates in a professional field environment. The position requires working outside, frequently for long periods of time in all weather, including extreme hot and cold temperatures.
While working, the employee might be exposed to various chemicals, vapors, pollutants, virus or other air-borne pathogens, gases, uneven surfaces, loud noises, moving vehicles or machines and dust/debris.
