Speedie & Associates is Hiring a Special Inspector Near Tucson, AZ

MUST be ICC certified in at least one discipline i.e., Reinforced Concrete, Structural Masonry, Welding/Bolting and willing to obtain other certifications asap.

  • Minimum 5 years Construction Materials Testing Field experience with at least 1 year of exposure to Special Inspection activities
  • Basic math skills (Simple Algebra)
  • ACI Field Grade I certification, ATTI Field certification a plus

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drives to project locations
  • Consistently shows up for work as scheduled
  • Works in a field setting in a close proximity to construction activity and heavy construction equipment
  • Monitors construction work in progress to determine whether work is being performed to specification and is in compliance with approved plans, codes, and related requirements; inspection assignments involve primarily non-residential buildings and focus on structural masonry, reinforced concrete, pre/post tension concrete, structural steel and welding, fireproofing; testing, quality control, administration, and technical review
  • Completes tasks and submits completed paperwork within appropriate time frame
  • Promptly notifies supervisor, project manager(s) and dispatcher of problems or changes that arise on project
  • Answers calls from supervisor, project manager(s), and/or dispatcher as soon as can reasonably be expected and, if unable to answer immediately, returns calls are first opportunity
  • Adheres to established safety procedures

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

  • Must be fluent in English
  • Written – Handwriting must be legible; must be able to compose correspondence and prepare required reports, completely and accurately
  • Verbal – Must be able to receive and follow through on instructions; maintains lines of communication, and communicates effectively, with supervisor, co-workers, clients, and contractors
  • Must be able to effectively present information and respond to questions from supervisors, co-workers, clients, contractors, and agencies

Pay: $20.00 - $35.00 per hour
