Role Description:

The Warehouse Lead for Final Mile is responsible for overseeing all aspects of warehouse operations related to final mile delivery. This role involves managing inventory, coordinating order fulfillment, and optimizing efficiency in the final mile warehouse environment.

- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities to efficiently manage dispatch operations and prioritize tasks.

- Strong communication skills for effective coordination with Delivery Service Providers (DSPs) and warehouse staff.

- Detail-oriented approach to ensure accurate and comprehensive record-keeping and documentation.

- Proficiency in using Google Sheets and other relevant software for data management and reporting purposes.

- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities and requirements.

- Problem-solving skills to address any operational challenges and ensure smooth last mile delivery.

- Previous experience in a dispatch or logistics role is preferred.

- Familiarity with proof of delivery procedures and return package management is an advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

Preparation:

- Gather the packages that need to be scanned.

- Ensure that each package has a unique identifier, such as a barcode or tracking number.

Use of Scanning Device:

- Utilize a handheld scanning device.

- Position the scanner over the barcode or enter the tracking number manually.

Scanning Process:

- Scan the barcode or input the tracking number using the scanning device.

- The system captures and records the unique identifier associated with the package.

System Verification:

- The system verifies the scanned information against the database.

- It may display relevant details such as package contents, destination, and status.

Update in Real-Time:

- The system updates the package status in real-time.

- This information is now accessible to other parts of the supply chain or logistics network.

Further Processing:

- Depending on the logistics workflow, the scanned information may trigger additional processes, such as sorting, routing, or scheduling for delivery.

Communication:

- Communicate any relevant information to other team members or stakeholders involved in the logistics process.

Safety Check:

- Ensure that the box is stable and safe to handle.

- Use appropriate personal protective equipment, if necessary.

Inspect the Box:

- Examine the box for any signs of damage or hazards.

- Identify any labels or markings that may provide important information.

Open the Box:

- Use a box cutter or scissors to carefully open the box along the seams or edges.

- Exercise caution to avoid damaging the contents inside.

Check for Damage:

- Inspect each item for any damage incurred during transit or packing.

- Document any damages for reporting or replacement purposes.

Sort and Organize:

- Organize the items based on type, size, or any other relevant criteria.

- Group similar items together to facilitate further processing.

Dispose of Packaging:

- Discard or recycle any packaging materials, such as bubble wrap or packing peanuts.

- Ensure proper disposal according to environmental guidelines.

Inventory Check:

- Update inventory records if applicable.

- Note the quantity and condition of each item.

Repackaging (if necessary):

- If the items need to be stored or shipped again, repack them securely.

- Use appropriate packaging materials to prevent damage during subsequent handling.

Clean-Up:

- Tidy up the work area by removing any debris or discarded packaging materials.

- Return tools, such as box cutters, to their designated storage.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
