Description

 As an intern at the Jersey Shore (JS) location of Spectrum Plastics Group (SPG) you will own a project that can be completed within the duration of your internship. It will call on your technical skills and will be a technical challenge. You will be encouraged to network and build relationships across functions within Jersey Shore, one of the Vascular Technologies divisional sites of SPG. We will provide you with some organized social and networking opportunities over the summer to help you build these connections.

Intern projects span various technical disciplines including:
Mechanical Design
Validations; Equipment (IQ/OQ), Process (OQ), & Product (PQ)
Design of Experiments (DOE)
Process / Product Development
Characterization of manufacturing processes
Technical writing including; Updating & Authoring SOPs, Protocols, Reports, & Work Plans
Functional Product Testing

 You will have an opportunity to work with and learn business, divisional, and functional competencies as well as interact with manufacturing, engineering, and business teams within a medical device company. You will also be introduced to the core values and unique culture that JS and SPG embodies while working in a team-oriented environment. Qualifications

Enrollment in an ABET accredited Bachelor’s degree program in one of the following areas: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials (or Polymer) Science, Bio/Biomedical Engineering or majors in a related discipline with transferable knowledge and experience, before starting internship in May/June 2019
Successful completion of at least the sophomore year of college and returning to school after the summer internship is complete
Ability to commit to at least a 10-week summer internship
Enthusiasm for digging into technical projects and successfully applying engineering fundamentals
Technical curiosity that leads to deeper understanding
Strong interpersonal skills
Drive and initiative; a self-starter
Demonstrated ability to drive projects or initiatives through completion
Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as with a team
Active learner
