Job Summary:
Spectrum Healthcare Resources is seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center's Emergency Room team as an ER Nurse in Houston, TX. You will provide critical care to patients in emergency situations, ensuring their safety and well-being. Your expertise and quick thinking will be essential in assessing patients, administering treatment, and coordinating with other healthcare professionals.
Position Highlights:
- Two weeks paid time off
- Guaranteed 80 hours every 2 weeks
- 10 paid Federal Holidays
- Duty period is normally 12 hours in length and includes rotating shifts

Duties:
- Perform triage assessments on incoming patients and prioritize care based on severity of condition
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed by physicians
- Monitor patient vital signs and response to treatment, adjusting care plans as necessary
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
- Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families
- Document patient information accurately and thoroughly in medical records
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and protocols for patient care
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
Job Requirements:
- Must possess a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited college or university; and/or graduate of an accredited National League of Nursing (NLN) School.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Have and maintain a current and valid state license (with no limitations, stipulations, or pending adverse actions) to practice as a Registered Nurse in one of the 50 States, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.
- Must possess at least 2 years prior experience in an Emergencry Room setting
- Have and maintain current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Must have a Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification.
