Spectacle Live is Hiring a Production Manager Near Cranston, RI

JOB TITLE:

Status: Full-Time; Salary; Exempt

Reports To: Director, Production and/or Venue Manager

Supervises: Stage hands and Technicians

Assigned Market: Cranston RI, Newport RI, and Plymouth MA

SUMMARY:

The Production Manager position is primarily an event facing role and plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth execution of events at our Spectacle Live managed venues. Working closely with the Director of Production, the Production Manager oversees all aspects of event and building production to ensure exceptional experiences for touring artists, rental clients, and patrons. This will be accomplished through knowledge of the room & its systems, timely advancing, strategic sourcing of labor & equipment, and a get it done attitude.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (including, but not limited to…):

· Develop a working knowledge of all house sound, lighting and video systems at the Spectacle Live managed venues.

· Maintain an inventory of all production equipment, ensuring it is well-maintained, up-to-date, and available for use.

· Work with Director of Production to coordinate equipment rentals and purchases as needed.

· Coordinate all technical aspects of events, including sound, lighting, video, and staging, to meet the agreed to artistic and technical requirements of performers and event organizers.

· Supervise hired technical staff, including audio engineers, lighting technicians, stagehands, and other production crew members.

· Ensure all staff adhere to safety protocols and deliver high-quality work.

· Work closely with event organizers, tour management and performers to understand their technical requirements and ensure these are met within the venue's capabilities.

· Quickly address any technical issues or challenges that arise during events, ensuring minimal disruption to the event and audience experience.

· Communicating event related information to all departments within the facility including Operations, Maintenance, Technical Services, Box Office, Parking and Security.

· Assistance of post-show event settlements

· Advise clients on services available from independent contractors for events.

· Communicate with municipal officials, including police, fire and medical services, event staff and public to ensure security of patrons and events run smoothly.

· Review emergency planning procedures with all events staff for each event

· Coordinate with Finance/Payroll as needed to ensure event staff and other applicable parties are paid

· Communicate clearly and concisely in the English language, both orally and in writing

· Serve as Manager on Duty as scheduled

· Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Proven experience as a Production Manager or similar role in a live performance venue, preferably with experience in concert production.

· Bachelor's degree in technical theater, production management, or a related field is preferred.

· Strong technical knowledge of sound, lighting, video, and staging equipment.

· Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

· Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.

· Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules.

· Strong oral and written communication skills

· Must have computer skills in Microsoft Office applications and word processing, spreadsheets, database, presentation and Internet software

· Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid drivers’ license

· Knowledge of principles of supervision and training

· Knowledge of fire and public safety regulations preferred

· Knowledge of A/V equipment and electronic systems in public assembly facilities

· Experience with budget preparation and control

· Familiarity with terminology used in entertainment/convention/public assembly settings

Intellectual/Social demands:

· While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is continuously asked to multi-task under time limits. Position requires constant attention to precise details and accuracy of specified standards including: following simple to complex (more than 3 steps) instructions, and concentration which frequently extends beyond 30 minutes at a time. Employees in this role will constantly be in leadership role; this requires directing others either verbally or in writing to complete tasks in prescribed time frame. This position also requires constant use of interpersonal skills including: ability to direct/motivate/inform staff and foster collaboration, being able to recognize and resolve conflicts, being able to openly communicate in writing and verbally with clients.

Physical demands:

· While performing the essential functions of the job, the employee constantly operates a computer and other office devices such telephones, copy machines, fax machines, etc; occasionally moves about inside the office to access storage areas, cabinets and office machinery; constantly moves about the arena and event sites before, during and after events to service clients and supervise staff; constantly communicates via telephone, email and in-person with others to exchange accurate information.

Work environment:

· The duties of this position are performed indoors and occasionally outdoors in the weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level in the work environments is usually moderate to loud during events and minimal during non-even times.
