Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

JOB DESCRIPTION LINK

As a Special School District (SSD) licensed practical nurse (LPN), you will be an advocate for students by modifying, managing, or removing health-related barriers to learning. You will ensure students can thrive in their school setting as independently as possible through your nursing care and empower them to care for themselves. By helping them safely attend school, you will be part of a team committed to helping every student excel to their greatest potential.

LPNs work primarily during school hours (which may vary based on building assignment). Please note: some LPNs also ride the bus to and from school with their student(s). They are generously compensated and receive benefits, including insurance, paid time off and holidays, access to staff health clinics, and more. They can serve single or multiple schools, depending upon their assignment. We are currently looking for LPNs to serve districtwide for the 2024/25 school year.

Special School District serves nearly 25,000 students and employs over 5,700 staff in St. Louis County. With core values of equity, commitment, and collaboration, the District's mission is to support and empower students of all learning abilities to excel to their greatest potential. SSD staff thrive in a culture deeply committed to diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility.

Special School District is an Equal Opportunity Employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for the position applied for without regard to race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, disability, marital status, sexual orientation, military/veteran status, gender identity, gender expression, ancestry, genetic information, or any other characteristics protected by law.
