Special Care Systems:

Job Title: Field Technician Level III

Reports To: Project Manager/Senior Project Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Hourly Rate Range: :$27-$30
*Travel Required for this position*:

Summary: :Responsible for installing, servicing and integrating health care communication systems. The Field Technician is responsible for utilizing company policy, procedure and processes to meet customer requirements. Troubleshoots and communicates solutions in a timely manner to meet objectives. Required to meet all administrative requirements including but not limited to recording job detail and hours. Responsible for assisting in the improvement of our quality, efficiency, cost reduction and safety initiatives. Field Service Technician to perform installation, integration, maintenance, and repairs to Company supported Products, a wide variety of telecommunications systems, equipment, cabling, and software. The Field Technician will also perform other related work as required.Essential Duties and Responsibilities::

  • Pre-installation preparation
  • Prepare and ensure all materials/equipment to be delivered to client as requested by Project Manager.
  • Have tools and vehicles in good working condition.
  • Have an understanding of estimated hours and schedule to perform tasks.
  • Review of customer contacts, rules and regulations on-site.
  • Assist in performing all necessary system configuration required.
  • Installation
  • Run cable
  • Headend/Server
  • Terminate cable
  • Install devices
  • Test System and Devices
  • Understand function of ALL system components as related to system build
  • Post-installation
  • Customer training
  • Customer sign-off
  • Account for and document the return of any remaining job equipment to the office
  • Assist in Bill of Materials Reconciliation
  • Service Calls
  • Perform test and inspection on existing clients
  • Take assignments as the on-call service technician
  • Perform technical service work
  • Log service calls and complete service call form.
  • Communicate and document as required by service manager.
  • Meet administrative requirements
  • Record daily hours and tasks
  • Provide all internal documentation at the completion of job as requested by Project Manager
  • Participate in performance reviews.
  • Understand and comply with company handbook.
  • Follow company policy, procedure and process.
  • Communicate opportunities for company improvement.
  • Understand and follow company principles.
  • Utilize Company email and calendar for communications.
  • Participate in company training and knowledge programs
  • Technical training on products.
  • Technical training on services and installation methodologies.

  • Maintain compliance in the following areas for facility access
  • Proof of up to date immunizations (some immunizations required annually)
  • Product and service training
  • Annual Bloodborne Pathogen and HIPPA training
  • General Expectations and Hospital Safety training
  • Acknowledgement of individual facility policies
Education and Experience: :
  • Associate’s Degree (A.A. / A.S.) from two-year college or trade school;
  • Or two to five years related experience and/or training;
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience

Certificates and Licenses: :

  • Possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License, and a satisfactory driving record, as conditions of initial (and continued) employment as well as use of Company vehicle (if available)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Small hand and power tools
  • Low voltage electric equipment
  • Testing with voltage/watt/ohm meter
  • Frequency scanning devices
  • Perform basic software troubleshooting and diagnostics,
  • Install hardware and software including operating system and office applications.
  • Responsible for providing computer hardware/software/network tech support to end-users.
  • Assists with setup and configuration of system hardware and software.
  • Proficient in Microsoft, and the components of the MS Office Suite.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations

Physical Demands: :

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear
  • Regularly required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include ability to see color

Work Environment:

  • Regularly exposed to indoor and outdoor allergens
  • May be exposed to work in high, precarious places, outdoor weather conditions, extreme heat (non-weather), blood borne pathogens, and risk of electrical shock
  • Occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather), work near moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and vibration.
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
