Speakeasy Candle Co. is a unique chandlery specializing in small-batch production and known as Vegas' premier DIY Candle Bar. We handcraft scented candles on-site for retail and offer guests the chance to reserve our creative studio for weekly workshops. Each fragrance draws inspiration from vibrant and classic cocktails. From our eco-friendly waxes to our non-toxic scents and reusable containers, our products are cleaner and safer.

Assistant Store Manager

About This Position

We’re seeking a dynamic and self-motivated Assistant Store Manager to join our team. This leadership position presents a unique opportunity to manage every aspect of our operations, from creating a luxurious retail environment to supervising our engaging candle-making workshops (prior candle-making experience not required). The ideal candidate is forward-thinking and demonstrates exceptional leadership and communication skills allowing them to motivate and guide a team. Experience Level

• Minimum 2 years of management and/or leadership experience

The Ideal Candidate

• Proven track record as a manager or in a comparable lead position
• Effective leadership abilities including clear communication and team motivation
• Obsession with delivering best-in-class customer experience
• Skilled in budgeting and financial oversight
• Familiarity with retail operations, point-of-sale systems, and inventory management
• Proficient in problem-solving, making well-considered decisions in demanding situations
• Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Prior knowledge within the fragrance industry is a plus

Responsibilities Include

Enhance Client Experience

• Address customer complaints promptly and with a positive attitude to resolve issues effectively
• Coordinate quarterly events for VIP customers and brand ambassadors
• Support staffing needs by consistently recruiting and networking to build a customer-focused team

Boost Store Sales Goals

• Collaborate on strategic partnerships to boost sales and meet or exceed monthly goals
• Provide expert product advice and recommend products based on customer preferences
• Contribute to company growth by creating brand collaborations and marketing initiatives

Champion Operational Excellence

• Develop monthly schedules and monitor payroll hours weekly using business reports and tools to meet payroll objectives
• Safeguard company assets and reduce losses by ensuring adherence to store standards, safety protocols, inventory control, and loss prevention
• Cultivate a collaborative and inclusive work environment
• Aid in the daily operations, including standard operating procedures and financial reporting
• Handle private event requests from the initial inquiry to day-of event execution

Shift Details

• 8-hour shift
• Monday - Friday day shifts
• Evening shifts as needed
• Weekends as needed

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma (some higher education preferred)
• Previous retail management experience in a luxury environment is a plus
• Strong leadership and people management skills
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Decision-making and problem-solving skills
• Retail math skills
• Flexible work availability (nights and weekends)
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, up to 8 hours a day
• Bending, rotating, and reaching conducive to a retail environment and to receiving, pricing, and stocking merchandise
