POSITION SUMMARY
Performs difficult technical work assisting users of office automation hardware and software; does related
work as required. Work is performed under the regular supervision of the Technical Services Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
This is medium work requiring the exertion of up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; work requires stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, and repetitive motions; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; visual acuity is required for depth perception, color perception, preparing and analyzing written or computer data, visual inspection involving small defects and/or small parts, assembly or fabrication of parts at or within arm’s length, operation of machines, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities; the worker is not subject to adverse environmental conditions.
Thorough knowledge of the operation, uses and capabilities of personal computers and peripheral equipment; thorough knowledge of personal computer software systems and their capabilities; thorough knowledge of the operation, uses and capabilities of personal computer hardware and software; ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions; ability to analyze software programs and make program adjustments; ability to train users of office automation hardware and software systems; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the staffs of user departments, vendors and
associates.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college with an associate degree with major course work in management information systems or related field and more than 5 years’ experience in application support, troubleshooting software, hardware, networking and printer problems.
