Preferred RHIT or AAPC Certified Coder. Experience in ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT and HCPCS coding. 

• Concurrent review of inpatient and observation charts for appropriate physician documentation to support the appropriate severity of illness, expected risk of mortality and complexity of care of the patient. 
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams for accurate, comprehensive documentation that reflects the true clinical picture of the patient. 
• Build and maintain profiles in the Patient Liability Estimator. 
• Coordinate charge set up in the chargemaster.
• Ability to compile and distribute statistical data. 
• Coder will perform coding for inpatient, swing bed, outpatient ancillary, outpatient surgery, emergency room, physician and other qualified healthcare providers as needed. 
• Provide education and feedback to providers on coding changes. 
• Projects and other duties as assigned per Coding Manager. 
• Individual needs to be familiar with federal and state policies. 
• Strong medical terminology with anatomy and physiology knowledge. 
• Experience with Microsoft Office, 3M Encoder and CPSI preferred. 
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. 
• Excellent customer service skills. 
• Qualified candidate will comply with HIPAA guidelines. 
• Must be able to work well with others and agree to adapt to the “SCH Standards of Behavior”.
