General Ledger Accountant

The General Ledger Accountant is responsible for providing professional level general accounting duties, under the direction of the Director of Accounting and Finance. The General Ledger Accountant will prepare journal entries, reconcile financial statements and accounts, and analyze data for accuracy. The General Ledger Accountant is detailed-oriented and possesses exceptional organizational skills. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential duties satisfactorily. Responsibilities:

  • Process daily bank postings and perform daily/monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Process electronic fund transfers as needed.
  • Preparation of weekly Borrowing Base and support reporting.
  • Prepare monthly lender reconciliations, reports and loan covenant calculations.
  • Assist with any and all audits, usually each quarter and year end.
  • Track personnel loans and work with payroll for re-payment.
  • Process and manage T&E and corporate credit cards.
  • Record payroll for multiple companies on a consistent and timely basis.
  • Manage prepaid and accruals as assigned.
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations as assigned.
  • Other accounting, financial, or administrative tasks as may be requested from time to time.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • MS Dynamics SL (Solomon) experience a plus.
  • Project implementation experience a plus.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
  • Solid understanding of US GAAP.
  • Strong analytical skills and independent thinking.
  • Curious enough to ask “WHY” “HOW” “WHAT” etc.
  • Interested enough to identify efficiencies.
  • Patient enough to work toward implementing change.
  • Excellent listening and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Must have excellent work habits and attention to detail.
  • Must have ability to work in a fast paced environment and manage/meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work cohesively across multiple departments.
  • Additional responsibilities as needed in accounting, finance or administration.

Qualifications:

  • This position requires a minimum education level of: Bachlor Degree in related field*. *Equivalent Experience may be substituted if asterisk present.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have strong working knowledge of computers, including Microsoft office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), internet, and e-mail..
