Department Coordinator - School of Physical Therapy, BSHS, and MSHS programs

JOB SUMMARY

Spalding University invites applications for the position of Administrative Coordinator forthe Kosair Charities School of Physical Therapy and the Health Science Programs (BSHS and MSHS programs). This position providesadministrative support to the academic leaders and to the faculty in the School of Physical Therapy and the Health Sciences Programs in the School of Health and Natural Sciences. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to function as an effective team member, establish goals, develop plans, make decisions and follow through with directions to meet established outcomes. They will also function as a collaborative team member by working effectively with individuals of diverse backgrounds and by actively supporting the overall goals of the School of Physical Therapy and the Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree programs in Health Sciences.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide administrative support for internal responsibilities including contracts, expense reports, course schedules, meeting minutes, searches for new hires, event planning & organizing.
  • Provide support to associated faculty which includes submitting contracts, tracking book orders, and general orientation of the departments’ and Spalding’s policies and procedures.
  • Provide support for all aspects of recruitment and admission of students into the School of Physical Therapy and the BSHS and MSHS programs.
  • Coordinate departmental website updates.
  • Assist with the management of the clinical education portion of the entry-level DPT Program curriculum.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications


SKILLS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Recommended minimum of one to two year’s administrative responsibilities in professional settings. Preferably, the experience is in an executive or administrative assistant role. Clerical and specialized work experience in professional settings (including education, business, healthcare, non-profits, etc.) are a plus.
  • Experience as administrative assistant to manager/executive in business, healthcare, and/or higher education preferred.
  • College degree preferred; two years of college or equivalent post high school office/business courses considered
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Appreciation and respect for diverse populations.

INTERRELATIONS

  • Daily contact with administration, faculty, staff outside the School of Physical Therapy and students and the BSHS and MSHS programs in the School of Health and Natural Science.
  • Regular contact with prospective DPT, BSHS, and MSHS students and the general public.
  • Regular interaction with diverse populations.
