Southwestern Community College is seeking a career services specialist. Responsibilities include working directly with students to provide career assessments and career coaching, job and internship search assistance, resume and cover letter writing assistance, interview preparation, and career development resources. Programming will be delivered to students through one-on-one career coaching, small group and workshop formats. The candidate will work collaboratively with the instructional and student services departments. The candidate will also be responsible for coordinating an annual employment fair on campus, as well as administering the college’s annual graduate satisfaction survey and employer satisfaction survey. This two-year position is funded through the AmeriCorps program. The candidate will receive free room and board, a living allowance, and an education award upon successful completion of their term of service.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree is required. The individual will possess well-developed skills in oral and written communication and be detailed oriented in their work. Must be student-centered, self-initiated, innovative and results-driven.
