Southwestern Community College is Hiring an Adult Education and Literacy Part-time Instructor (Red Oak daytime) Near Red Oak, IA

Location: Red Oak, Iowa

Individual will be responsible for preparing and teaching basic skills, English Literacy and/or High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED) subject areas (reading, writing, social studies, science, and mathematics) to students enrolled in the SWCC Adult Education and Literacy program. Candidate must evaluate and report adult student progress and level completion according to state/federal guidelines and must have good communication and computer skills. Bachelor’s degree required, in education preferred.

Individual will be scheduled up to 20 hours per week. Pay will begin @ $17 per hour.

About Southwestern Community College

Southwestern Community College was established in Sylva on Dec. 1, 1964 as the Jackson County Industrial Education Center, a satellite unit of Asheville-Buncombe Technical Institute. Since achieving independent status in the fall of 1967, the College (then known as Southwestern Technical Institute) has greatly expanded its educational and training services to the residents of Jackson, Macon and Swain counties.
