Job Summary:

The Graphic Designer will be part-time on a three-month contract to assist with the Unaccompanied Children’s Standardization Project. The Graphic Designer will report to and be provided with creative guidance by an in-house Graphic Designer.

Essential Functions:

• Uphold Southwest Key Programs’ brand guidelines on print and digital deliverables.
• Create assets such as infographics, posters, signage, Word documents, Excel spreadsheets and PowerPoint templates consistent with Southwest Key branding. 
• Apply branding to existing documents that need to be refreshed or modified for the Unaccompanied Children’s standardization project.
• Upload design assets and templates to brand hub for employees to access templates that are easily editable and reproducible. 
• Meet project deadlines with the ability to manage feedback and prioritize tasks as needed.
• Preference to work in office at National Headquarters on Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

Other Functions:

• Able to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• An undergraduate degree in graphic design preferred or related field with a minimum of two years in the field experience.
• Proficiency in graphic design software applications including Adobe Creative Suite (primarily Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign) and Canva required. Proficiency in Adobe (After Effects, XD, Sketch) is a plus.
• Advanced skills in utilization of Microsoft Office software including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
• Strong understanding of typography and layout.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Strong communications skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community.
• Knowledge of printing and/or reproduction processes and techniques.
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.

Physical Demands:

Must be able to read, write, and communicate both verbally and in written form to express and exchange ideas. While performing the responsibilities of this job, the employee must be able to access all components of the workstation and other office equipment. Frequent typing, writing, bending and twisting.

Work Environment:

General office environment with moderate noise. This position is mostly sedentary, involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. A busy environment with many unscheduled interruptions. Extensive computer uses at workstation for extended periods of time. Public contact position requiring appropriate business apparel.
