POSITION SUMMARY:

The Skilled Trades Instructor will instruct students in skilled trades from HVAC, electric, plumbing and carpentry. Using the NCCER as the curriculum, the instructor will provide instruction in service of the practical skills and techniques that the students must subsequently master in the field. The instructor will help to develop the attitudes, values, and understanding of the vocation as they move to an apprenticeship. The instructor will monitor the students’ progress, assist individually when necessary, and evaluate their knowledge and performance on the subject through assignments and examinations.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Journeymen level and understanding of construction basics
• 5 years of on the job construction training preferred
• Experience implementing current best practices in adult-centered learning, vocational education and career guidance
• Possession of a valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation for day-to-day job performance

COMPENSATION:

$27 to $30 per hour (Full-Time, Non-Union)
