SOUTHWEST CONSTRUCTION is Hiring a Concrete Superintendent Near Dallas, TX

Concrete Preservation Field Superintendent

Purpose

To lead and manage foremen to ensure quality construction within the budgeted labor, material and equipment and customer satisfaction.

Scope of Authority/Decision-Making

Complete authority to:

  • Send employees home when they are no longer needed
  • Ordering of all materials
  • Shut down project due to safety or budget concerns
  • Respond to customer requests and issues

Authority after approval to:

  • Purchasing additional material/supplies
  • Any additional change orders
  • Recommend Hiring and terminations
  • Contact customer for schedule changes
  • Authorization of overtime for in-house crews

Reports To:

Production Manager

Supervises:

Crew Foreman In-House Crews Subcontractors

Responsibilities:

  • Pre-Job Planning
    • Walk each job site prior to start date with foreman
    • Assign Daily Job Tickets to appropriate crew foreman
    • Ensure that Next Day Schedule is followed
    • Working with Production Manager to order and schedule work.
    • Foreman Management
    • Ensure that the foreman and subcontractors are appropriately running the crew to achieve maximum profitability and customer satisfaction.
    • Ensure that all work is completed by foreman's crew and subcontractors correctly and according to all standards
    • Train foreman and crew and subcontractors’ members as needed to ensure quality work
    • Ensure that all safety standards are followed by all foreman and crew members and subcontractors
    • Materials/Equipment Management
    • Correctly distribute materials and equipment
    • Ensure that Next Day Schedule is followed
    • Ensure that all foremen and subcontractors maximize the use of all materials to save cost
    • Ensure that all equipment is properly maintained
  • Paperwork Management
    • Review each foreman's completed daily job packet for accuracy and approve
    • Provide daily reports, JHA's, and safety inspections to production manager
    • Tum in delivery tickets daily to production manager
    • Nightly email on next day schedule
  • Quality Control and Customer Satisfaction
    • Conduct a Quality Control on two to three jobs each week and compare to the foreman's Quality Control
    • Respond quickly to customer requests
    • Build a relationship with the customer by continuously keeping them informed on the progress of their job
    • Conduct a quality control sign off at the completion of the project with the customer
  • Personal Development
    • Time management
    • PO logbook per job
    • Daily log
  • Daily Activities
    • 6:30 a.m. to 6:45 a.m. Get everyone out of the Shop
    • 6:45a.m. to 7:30a.m. total Time Sheet. Give to Admin to total
    • 7:30a.m. to 8:30a.m. review schedule and make adjustments in PCMX
    • 8:30a.m. to 2:00p.m. check jobs
  • Field training and inspection as appropriate
    • Safety
    • Quality
    • Production rate
    • Material yields
    • Evaluate project schedule
    • Job meetings as appropriate
  • 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
    • Ensure schedule is accurate
    • Tickets in box
    • Equipment and material that needs to be ready for load that day
    • Verify truck and equipment inspections (pre and post checklist)
    • Pre-checklist every day
    • Post checklist once a week
    • Start working timesheets turned in

Overall Critical Measurements of Success:

  • Work performed within budgeted labor hours
  • Work performed within budget for materials
  • Quality Control Checklist completed on every job
  • Customer Satisfaction
  • Repeat business

Qualifications and Requirements

Skills:

Experience:

  • 3 to 5 years of management experience
  • 5 years experience in pouring concrete
  • Experience with heavy equipment
  • Valid driver's license
