Southwest firmly believes that our People are our greatest asset, and Leaders within the Company support our People by ensuring all have equal opportunity for learning and personal growth.The Director of Income and Excise Tax leads anddevelops the Corporate Income and Excise Tax Team and is responsible forensuring all tax returns and tax accounting accruals are complete, accurateand timely.This roleguides the audit strategy and tax planning for the Companyand communicates quarterly and annual financial results to the Senior Leadership of the Finance Department in a clear and easily understood manner. The Director Income and Excise is an adaptable problem-solver and skilled communicator who is passionate about building relationships and finding ways to reinvigorate the future of Southwest Airlines.

This role is a hybrid position based out of our Corporate Campus in Dallas, TX, which requires Employees to work onsite on our Corporate Campus at least three days a week.The Department designates the specific three days of the week Employees must work on-site.

Education
Preferred: Knowledge of federal and state tax laws
Preferred: Experience in accounting for income taxes (ASC 740)
Preferred: A working knowledge of Thomson OneSource Income Tax, OneSource Tax Provision, and SAP general ledger software platforms
Pay & Benefits
Competitive market salary from $192,350 - 213,700 peryear* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individualcontributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at thediscretion of the company.
