Southstone is Hiring an Earthwork/Utility Superintendent Near Jenks, OK

Southstone Construction, Inc. is looking for a earthwork/utility Superintendent to oversee and manage the civil construction operations and services. A person to closely work with Project Manager, subcontractors, vendors and owners. The Superintendent will have full responsibility for the onsite production of the project. This responsibility includes providing quality control; assuring conformity to plans and specifications; maintaining sequences to meet schedule; maintaining short and long-term production schedules; conducting weekly job site coordination and safety meetings; scheduling Southstone owned equipment for each jobsite.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • General jobsite record keeping requirements such as recording employees time, proper coding of receipts and time, daily/weekly work logs, submittal/contract document organization, JHA/JSA meetings, weekly toolbox talks, jobsite inspections, equipment inspections, and more.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and communicate the project requirements according to the contract documents, drawings, and specifications.
  • Provide accurate reporting to Project Management regarding the status of the work and any delays that are foreseen or that have been experienced.
  • Maintain accurate contract documents onsite such as red-lines, RFIs, and change orders throughout the project as necessary.
  • Work with Project Management to assist in development of work schedules.
  • May oversee the work of lower-level Superintendents and other responsibilities associated with this position as required.
  • Plan and supervise foreman with determining method of construction, manpower levels, material quantities, equipment, temporary power sources, work schedule, and documenting actual hours worked.
  • Assist in resolving construction problems (lack of productivity, work sequences, etc.) as required.
  • Maintain liaison with subcontractors and project manager to ensure all required materials, equipment, inspections, etc., support project schedule and budget.
  • All other tasks as assigned.

Education/Skill Requirements:

  • Experience in grading operations, parking lot/drive projects, storm drainage installation, and general civil infrastructure construction methods preferred.
  • Experience requirements include a four-year degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or experience.
  • Experience in construction methods, equipment, tools, and work procedures required.
  • Advanced understanding of construction scheduling, cost control, and ability to control and supervise large groups is essential.
  • Must be able to read plans, judge distances, understand others, and be easily understood by others.
  • Must have the visual acuity to operate a motor vehicle.
  • Bilingual a plus.

  • Hot, Wet, Cold Environment.
  • High Elevations.
  • Job site, trailer, or office.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
