Johnson Brothers Corporation, a Southland Company, in Grapevine, Texas, seeks a Senior Project Engineer – Facilities to be responsible for preconstruction engineering and management of various water and wastewater treatment plants, pipeline, and pump stations projects. Specific duties include: (i) reviewing and managing submittals, RFI’s, reports, and work plans; (ii) coordinating with stakeholders to secure timely approval of material and equipment, fabrication release, and delivery; (iii) reviewing and designing build project documents, collaborating with design engineers, evaluating design options, value engineering, and cost saving measures; (iv) discussing and planning means and methods and establishing procurement and buyout plan; (v) delineating lines of responsibilities for subcontractors and suppliers; (vi) reviewing and negotiating subcontracts, purchase orders, and engineering service agreements; (vii) performing quantity takeoff and cost estimates; (viii) analyzing changes, discussing mitigation plans, and assisting in development of recovery schedules; (ix) implementing BIM process within project setup, reviewing and managing coordination drawings, generating schedule of materials for procurement and buyout, and coordinating with CPM; (x) planning and assisting in execution of startup and commissioning plan for plants and process equipment; and (xi) developing and assisting in implementing QA/QC plan throughout construction processes.
Must have a bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field plus eight (8) years of post-baccalaureate, progressively responsible experience in a related position.
In the alternative, will accept a master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in one of the above noted fields plus six (6) years of experience in a related position.
Must have five (5) years of experience: (i) working on water/wastewater treatment plants and pump stations; (ii) with construction logic and sequencing of complex projects; and (iii) coordinating across multiple disciplines, reviewing shop drawings and submittals for all disciplines including civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, instrumentation and controls.
Must have any experience: (i) developing QA/QC plans and startup and commissioning plans for facilities and equipment; (ii) using AutoCAD, Revit, BIM 360, Navisworks, Blue Beam Revu, and Primavera P6 software; (iii) with design-build project execution, quantity takeoff, cost estimating, procurement of major equipment and piping on the projects; (iv) with project materials buyout, including negotiations and drafting purchase orders and subcontracts.
Must have a Professional Engineering License.
Must be willing and able to travel up to 20%.
Must be willing to work in a drug-free environment and agree to a post offer drug test.
Experience can be concurrent.
