The Purchasing Specialist participates in all aspects of purchasing and inventory control for brands and divisions as assigned. With the guidance of the Purchasing Manager, this role is responsible for executing purchase activities while staying in compliance with departmental & organizational objectives and goals. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING: Issue all general merchandise purchase orders for brands and divisions as assignedTrack and maintain purchase orders by confirming lead times, delivery dates and current cost ensuring order accuracyPrepare and/or review purchase requisitions as requiredReview order replenishment reports and replenish inventory as neededMonitor inventory levels and ensure stocking levels are maintained and updated as neededCoordinate real time product delivery status with distribution centers and storesPrepare and maintain purchasing reports including but not limited to spend analysis, over and under stocked items & vendor fill rates and lead timesWork closely with key suppliers to support a strong supply chain and maintain successful relationships while ensuring delivery and quality issues are resolved timelyAssist merchandising team with promotions, new stocking request, updated price sheets, and vendor communicationsInvestigate inventory discrepancies and order variancesAdhere to purchasing processes and proceduresSupport any month end activities related to inventory and purchasingSupport department and other key stakeholders with purchasing and inventory initiativesSupport and complete other task and projects as assignedYOU MIGHT BE A GOOD FIT IF YOU HAVE:Associates degree or equivalent combination of education and experience5 or more years of related experience purchasing for a distribution organizationExceptional organizational skills and attention to detailStrong mathematical & analytical skillsIntermediate to Advanced Excel skillsAbility to communicate effectively with others fostering a cooperative work environment while having a team and company focusAbility to multi-task and prioritize accordinglyWHY YOU’LL LOVE IT HERE • Competitive compensation, DOE!• Daytime shift with great hours!• Our collaborative culture• Competitive benefits package, including: Health, Dental and Vision• Opportunity to enroll in our 401k program• Employee Assistance Program (EAP) • Paid time off#CORP
