2nd Shift Press Brake Operator 3:30PM-12:30AM Monday - Friday
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE JOB
Setup and safely operate CNC Press Brake to process/produce quality products requested by customer orders.
JOB ACTIVITIES
Essential Functions
1. Selects steel:
a. Uses caution to avoid damage to the steel.
b. Uses tape measure and calipers to verify correct size of material.
c. Uses color code to verify composition and/or thickness of material.
d. Directs crane operator regarding the proper material to be brought to the Press Brake.
e. Operates gantry crane/crane/forklift, as needed.
2. Setup and verify accuracy of machine settings to confirm accurate tolerances for machine functions.
3. Cuts steel:
a. Hooks up Plate dogs to Plate and helps the crane operator guide the Plate to the correct position on the Shear table.
b. Manually and mechanically places steel in the precise position for an accurate cut, per customer order.
c. Accurately marks the material for shipment.
4. Returns steel to stock:
a. Marks all drops with heat numbers, other identifying numbers, and color codes to ensure the identity of the steel.
b. Place drops in correct location.
c. Uses caution to avoid damage to the steel.
5. Must be able to lift, push, and pull 50lbs, frequently and readying steel for shipment storage.
6. Must be able to climb ladder to search for material and hook up crane.
7. Performs routine preventative maintenance on Press Brake and associated equipment.
8. Keeps table and entire area clean.
9. Ensures needed repairs are made promptly.
10. Performs all tasks safely; obeys all safety rules.
11. Performs other duties assigned by foreman as necessary to complete the shift.
Non-Essential Functions
1. Demonstrates ability and responsibility to perform other duties assigned by the foreman as necessary to complete the shift.
2. Cleans and polices assigned work areas.
