Description

MidSouth Pain Treatment Center, a PartnerCare affiliated company, is seeking a full-time Board-Certified Interventional Pain Physician to join our growing and established practice in Jackson, Tennessee.

Our practice focuses on taking care of the patient with a comprehensive plan, delivering high customer service, keeping patients safe and well-informed and reducing patients' pain as much as possible.

Our team of physicians, nurses, anesthesiologists, and staff are dedicated to ensuring that patients can improve their quality of life with pain relief that involves the use of cutting-edge technology. 

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive multi-disciplinary pain management care and may supervise ARNPs/Physician Assistant(s). 

  • Create a safe, balanced, and patient focused approach to pain management and treatment plan. 

  • Evaluate patients for medical concerns i.e., injury, disease, chronic pain, or a disabling condition) and assesses the physical and mental condition of patients by performing and obtaining comprehensive or problem-focused physical examinations and medical histories. 

  • Determine and order appropriate diagnostic radiology exams. 

  • Determine and implement appropriate treatment plans for patients providing relief from chronic pain using medications, nerve blocks, electrical stimulation, or other therapies directed towards treating chronic pain.

  • Procedures primarily performed in nearby Outpatient Single Specialty Surgery Center with staff familiar with chronic pain procedures.

  • Orders, collects, interprets, and evaluates laboratory and other diagnostic tests to assess patient problems Doctor and health care needs. 

  • Maintains (accurately, timely and complete) appropriate Electronic Health records detailing the patient’s treatment plans and outcomes. Initiates timely consultation and referral when the problem exceeds scope of practice and/or expertise. 

  • Monitors ongoing progress and health of patients, and changes treatment plans, as necessary. 

  • Provides adaptive tools to improve the overall health and physical functioning of patients. 

  • Counsel patients and families regarding medical processes, management of the health condition, medication, nutrition, and health promotion. Counsel patients about drug regimens and possible side effects or interactions with other substances such as food supplements, over the counter medications and herbal remedies to help them adapt to lifestyle changes. 

  • Review patient documents to measure the effectiveness and quality of patient care. 

  • Provides support and advice to patients receiving long-term care. 

  • Directs, supports, and collaborates Advanced Practice Providers in Interventional Pain Management care delivery. 

  • Actively participates in growing the practice through marketing, educational and social engagements. 

  • Maintains strictest confidentiality; adheres to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations.

Educational & Licensing Requirements: 

  • Must have a of Medicine (MD) or a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree or foreign degree equivalent required.

  • Must be Board Eligible or Board Certified in Pain Medicine and Anesthesiology or Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

  • Have completed - or in process of completing - a Pain Medicine Fellowship from an ACGME-Accredited Program.

  • Must have an active and unrestricted (without sanctions) Medical License and DEA License in Florida. 

  • Must have Basic Life Support (BLS) / Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.

Qualifications


Education: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree or foreign degree equivalent required

License/Certifications:

  • Valid and active unrestricted state medical license to practice medicine required
  • BCV/BE by The American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (ABPMR), American Board of Anesthesia (ABA), or American Board of Radiology with Interventional Radiology Subspecialty are preferred.
  • Basic Life Saving (BLS)/Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification

Experience:

  • 4 - 7 years post-graduate training internship and residency required.
  • Completion of Pain Management Fellowship or in process of completing ACGME accredited fellowship
