The opportunity
Southern New Hampshire University's traditional campus is seeking a Wellness Center Office Assistant. This student worker must be enrolled in a graduate day program.
As an Office Assistant, you will be the first point of contact for all students and visitors to the Wellness Center. We are seeking a friendly and welcoming professional who will greet, direct, and assist all incoming traffic. You should be able to handle confidential information and give accurate information through a variety of means, including in-person interactions, through phone discussions and in email communications. A customer service orientated approach is important. We strive to make students and visitors feel comfortable and valued while in our office.
Main duties and responsibilities of the position include:
Schedule, cancel and reschedule appointments for nursing and counseling services.
Evaluate and process incoming medical records in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) including reviewing, interpreting, and entering immunization dates to ensure compliance.
Answer phone calls, address email requests and take accurate messages.
Additional duties of this position:
Provide information about our office, programs, and other Wellness Center related services.
Sort and distribute incoming mail.
Photocopy, fax assorted documents and scan confidential records into EMR.
Perform miscellaneous duties as requested.
Previous experience as a front desk representative, or relevant position is highly desired. The ideal candidate will be creative, organized, presentable and reliable. To be successful in this position the applicant must have strong communication and people skills. Aptitude for problem solving, attention to detail and multi-taking abilities are a must.
Minimum Qualifications:
Enrollment in graduate day program at SNHU.
Must be able to comply with confidentiality standards of the Wellness Center.
Proficient with Microsoft products.
Work Commitment: 16 hours per week. You will coordinate your personal schedule with existing graduate workers to create a fully staffed front desk coverage calendar. The office is open Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm. Hours may require flexibility to meet business demands.
