Southern Nevada Health District is Hiring a Medical Assistant Near UNKNOWN, NV

Position Overview

The Southern Nevada Health District (SNHD) announces an examination process to create an eligibility list to fill two (2) vacancies for the classification of Medical Assistant in the Federally Qualified Health Center Division. The eligibility list may be utilized to fill future vacancies for this classification for up to four (4) months.
The current vacancies are in the FQHC, however the list may be used to fill future vacancies through out the District.

This recruitment will close on or before the date listed above, once a sufficient number of qualified applications have been identified.
To perform a variety of duties involved in providing patient care and clinic services and to perform a variety of tasks relative to assigned areas of responsibility.

Minimum Qualifications

Education and Training:
  • Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade through diploma or GED
  • Successful completion of Medical Assistant training in an accredited program
  • Certification by the American Association of Medical Assistants preferred but not required
Experience:
Prior experience in a medical office setting or medical clinic setting is preferred but not required experience required
License or Certificate:
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate valid Nevada Driver’s license within 90 days

The selection process will begin with an employment application screening, with the best-qualified candidates being invited to participate further in the assessment process. This process may include any combination of written, performance, and oral assessments to evaluate job-related education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. SNHD will provide reasonable accommodation to qualified individuals with disabilities. Appointment may be subject to the successful completion of a post-offer pre-employment background investigation and medical/physical examination, including a drug/alcohol test.
