Job Summary and Qualifications
  • You will assume responsibility for facilitating safe, efficient, and therapeutically effective care for patients on the 14 bed Geriatric psychiatric unit, in addition the Manager is responsible for the development and enhancement of the hospital Senior Services, and be a registered professional nurse who participates as an active administrative member of the Nursing Management Team
  • You will monitor and control expense performance to ensure efficient operations, promote senior clinical initiatives, patient safety initiatives and quality improvement activities- acting as a resource and assists in problem solving and conflict resolution when necessary
  • You will serve as a mentor for Charge nurses and other Supervisors, evaluate the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice and services and collaborate with the management team and physicians for improving patient outcomes, and foster a professional environment while consistently demonstrating the ability to influence, motivate, and mange others while encouraging opportunities for employee development, teamwork and/or change in practice
  • You may also work as a registered professional in the capacity of House Supervisor in addition to being a clinical nurse in a variety of areas within the hospital based upon knowledge, skills, and abilities
What qualifications you will need:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • BSN Required (or actively to pursue); MSN Preferred- if none, must receive monthly supervision from a MSN in the field of Psychiatry
  • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Nevada
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in a leadership role in an acute care hospital preferred
  • Knowledge of current behavioral health concepts, principles and methods of treatment; psychiatric nursing experience as a registered nurse preferred
  • CPR, BAR, ACLS (required for critical care areas)
