Southern Healthcare Solutions, LLC is Hiring a Lexington, TN. Director of Nursing - Unity Hospice Care Near Lexington, TN

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for the overall day to day operations of the office and ensures that all care meets or exceeds compliance with state, federal and corporate guidelines.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Must be currently licensed (in good standing) in the state where the Hospice Program is located.
  • At least two years management experience in a hospice or related health care organization.
  • Knowledge of business management, federal and state regulations.
  • Speaks, writes, reads, and comprehends English.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES (including, but not limited to):

  • Evaluates goals and objectives for hospice services which meet and promote standards of quality care and meeting Unity’s Mission Statement, values and philosophy.
  • Maintains full responsibility for the day to day operations of the branch office.
  • Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations as appropriate.
  • Negotiates contracts and agreements for the provision of services and assures enforcement of the agreements.
  • Acts as liaison to the Board of Directors.
  • Assists with orientation for new employees and in-services.
  • Maintains Quality Improvement Program.
  • Promotes hospice referrals in the community.
  • Supervise the planning, coordination, and safe delivery of patient/family care.
  • Assigns each patient/family to appropriate staff members.
  • Plan and/or conduct IDG conferences. Present cases as indicated and participate in discussion, planning, re-evaluation, and updating patient Plan of Care.
  • Conducts supervisory visits with patient and staff as appropriate.
  • Audits medical records, checking for accuracy, documentation and appropriate patient care.
  • Evaluates performance of the staff.
  • Monitors continuous case situations to assure that at least nursing staff provides 51% of hands-on patient care.
  • Participates in community programs as requested, to promote professional growth and understanding of hospice care.
  • Provides the community with accurate information.
  • Initiates emergency procedures when necessary.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Able to lift, push, and pull light to moderate loads. Moderately heavy physical effort. May occasionally do heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling.

LICENSES and CERTIFICATION

  • RN license
  • Current Driver’s License
  • Current Automobile Liability Insurance According to Company Policy & Procedure
