Southern Berkshire Regional is Hiring a Behavioral Specialist Near Sheffield, MA

The Southern Berkshire Regional School District has a vacancy for a Behavioral Specialist for the 2024-2025 School Year.Works as part of the team with the Principal, Assistant Principal, Director of Student Services, teachers, education support professionals, parents and others, as needed, to support positive behavior in the school. This position reports to the principal or his/her designee.Responsibilities:•Provides direct instruction to students who have been identified as needing assistance in appropriate behavior in daily interactions with staff and other students.•Works with students and staff to provide a safe learning community by implementing disciplinary policies and behavioral supports.•Works with parents, students and staff to ensure successful transition between school, where appropriate.•Works with faculty and students to structure, develop, and support classroom and non-classroom learning, including support extra-curricular activities, such as assemblies, lunch duty, arrival, and dismissal times and the like.•Works with staff to implement the Code of Conduct and conducts conflict resolution activities , as necessary.•Serves as liaison to the surrounding community and other areas schools about off-campus student safety, behavior, and other student life issues.•Serves as liaison to the surrounding community and other are school administrators to assist in identifying and / or developing professional development to meet the social, emotional, and behavioral needs of the school and the needs of capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved.Requirements:-Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field – Masters PreferredWage/Salary: (Per Unit A Contract)Benefits: (Per Unit A Contract)Submit letter of interest/resume to: Charles Miller, Principal, Undermountain Elementary School, PO Box 326, Sheffield, MA 01257.
