Southeastern Spine Institute is Hiring a PRN MRI Assistant Near Mount Pleasant, SC
We are looking for a PRN (as needed) MRI Assistant to join our team!
Position Summary:
The position will be responsible for greeting, screening, preparing and positioning the patient for their MRI examinations as well as the completion of the patient care process. It also includes clerical functions.
Working Conditions:
Position requires full range of motion including sitting, standing, reaching, bending and stooping. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. without assistance. Hearing and visual acuity sufficient to observe patient, read documents and hear equipment alarms. Must have the ability to transport patient in wheelchair or stretcher.
Primary duties include, but are not limited to:
- Prepares all necessary patient paperwork related to MRI procedure
- Start IVs and assist technologist with contrast injections
- Screens patient and records medical history
- Thoroughly explains procedure to patient and answers any questions/concerns
- Assists patient on and off MRI table and position patient for MRI exam
- Ensures physician’s orders, pre-screen forms have been received
- Coordinates care with other team members to ensure comprehensive patient care to MRI patient population
- Disinfects MRI table and all associated equipment after each patient use
- Schedules and cancels MRI exams in EHR system and keeps daily schedule current
- Maintains patient confidentiality and attends in-services (OSHA, HIPAA, sexual harassment, customer service, etc.) and staff meetings as required by practice
- Maintains daily MRI statistics
- Burn copies of MRI & X-ray images upon request
- Stock and supply linen supplies
Position Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1 year of experience working in a clinical profession and preferably in an MRI facility
- Current CPR and IV Certifications
- Understanding of human anatomy through education and/or work experience
