Summary:
This position is responsible for the flawless execution of the day-to-day operations of the Housekeeping department as well as the overall cleanliness and aesthetic upkeep of the hotel . The role reports to the General Manager of the hotel and the duties include: maintaining and ordering supplies, investigating complaints, supervising housekeepers, training new employees, and ensuring customer satisfaction. Essential functions of this job include but are not limited to:
Essential Functions:
1. Organize, supervise and coordinate the work of housekeeping staff on day-to-day basis.
2. Develop detailed, realistic, and comprehensive plans that support organizational objectives, effectively allocating resources and time across groups or departments.
3. Fiscal and budgetary management of housekeeping operations including maintaining departmental budgets, forecasts, and financial reports as needed; reviewing and approving purchases for the department.
4. Manage the daily activities of the Housekeeping and Laundry department to include appropriate cleaning of all public areas as well as guest rooms.
5. Provides supervision to Laundry team members and ensures the efficiency and effectiveness of the operation
6. Monitor, manage and respond to guest comments and proactively addressing guest comments with operational resolutions
7. Develop, implement, and monitor schedules for the housekeeping operation and manage staffing process to ensure appropriate levels of resourcing to maintain efficient operations.
8. Recruiting, hiring, training, and evaluating team member performance against standards.
9. Plan and implement staff training and development programs within the department.
10. Enforce policies and procedures; maintain a working knowledge of general and departmental safety procedures. Attends safety training programs and in-service education as required.
11. Ensures the proper maintenance of all equipment; makes arrangements for repair and/or replacement of used and damaged equipment.
12. Conducts inventory of housekeeping supplies for submission to the GM
13. Ensures housekeeping activity and physical areas stocked, organized and are compliant with all safety and environmental health processes, procedures and regulations.
14. Oversees the safe management of the Lost and Found, verifying proper record keeping and safety of items.
Preferred Education and Experience:
1. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
2. Minimum 5 years of previous housekeeping supervision experience.
3. Previous hotel industry experience desired.
4. Ability to work independently.
