    Primary Purpose:
    The TCLAS Instructional Coach supports implementation of the TCLAS grant in the district's elementary schools. The TCLAS Instructional Coach collaborates with campus administration, district-level staff, and other instructional leaders to engage in best practices that strengthen instruction and increase student learning. The TCLAS Instructional Coach provides professional learning opportunities, reviews and analyzes student data, and provides coaching as a part of the instructional leadership team. This position will serve as a liaison between elementary campuses and district-level staff to implement district instructional initiatives, to provide professional development, and to support specific campus and district goals.
    Qualifications:
    Education/Certification:
    • Bachelor's Degree from accredited college or university required
    • Master's degree preferred
    • Valid Teacher's Certification in EC-6 or equivalant preferred
    • Current principal or administrative certification preferred
    • Candidate must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check. Non-refundable fee (approximately $50.00) paid by the employee
    Experience:
    • Minimum five years of successful math teaching experience in a school setting
    • Instructional coaching experience required
    • Campus administrative or leadership experience preferred
    Special Knowledge/Skills:
    • Knowledge of the district;s elementary curriculum in all core subjects and initiatives which support and are aligned to the district's curriculum.
    • Knowledge and training in research-based teaching and learning strategies related to elementary education.
    • Knowledge and skills in the use of technology as instructional tools.
    • Demonstrate skills in organization, leadership, communication, problem-solving, facilitation, collaboration, research and team-building.
    • Ability to maintain effective communication and working relationships with all staff.
    • Ability to effectively provide professional development to adult learners.
    • Demonstrate evidence of flexible thinking and willingness to accept new ideas and constructive feedback.
    • Demonstrate ability to work respectfully and collaboratively with all stakeholders for ensuring improvement in both instructional performance and academic achievement.
    • Demonstrate ability to interpret data for determining corrective interventions associated with instructional decisions which impact instruction and student performance.
    • Personal characteristics that reflect: commitment, high-expectations, respect, integrity, teamwork and passion for the profession.
    • Consistently seeks resources to support or enhance curriculum, instruction and assessment.
    • Ability to implement policy and procedures.
    • Ability to adapt to change.

    Major Responsibilities and Duties:
    Instructional
    • Attend all related TCLAS professional development sessions.
    • Participate in all TCLAS implementation meetings to ensure proper implementation of the grant.
    • Provide, coordinate, or facilitate professional development related to district TCLAS initiatives.
    • Work with campus administration to ensure appropriate implementation of programming supported by TCLAS.
    • Ability to improve teaching through a variety of methods: coaching, model teaching, and data focused dialogue.
    • Serve as an instructional liaison between campus and district departments.
    • Provide leadership and facilitation of vertical and horizontal instructional planning, implementation and refinement of practices.
    • Assist in planning, coordinating, and implementing instructional district programs and services.
    • Collaborate with campus staff to facilitate systemic change and stability of promising practices that increase student outcomes.
    • Design, support, and implement professional learning opportunities for staff development and growth.
