Job Summary:

As a Food Service Intern, you will assist in the preparation, cooking, and serving of food and beverages to the guests of South Haven Jellystone Park™. You will have the flexibility to design and name your own donut, espresso drinks, ice cream sundaes and shakes. You will be able to apply your knowledge and work closely with your supervisor to provide support and assistance, as well as to help develop and implement new strategies for improving food processes and guest experience within the resort.

Key Responsibilities:

· Provide a guest experience that aids in enhancing one’s stay. We like our team members to imagine themselves as; “Memory makers are WOW creators.

· Assist in the enhancement of our theme weekends by way of introducing specials or drink ideas to correlate with that’s week's theme.

· Assist in food and drink preparation and presentation: The Food Service Intern will help prepare and present food items such as mini donuts, burgers, fries, Broaster Chicken, espresso drinks, and ice cream sundaes. Food safety and sanitation guidelines will. be followed.

· Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and seating areas, perform dishwashing and general kitchen cleaning duties.

· Receive and stock inventory: The Food Service Intern will help with receiving and stocking inventory, ensuring that all items are properly labeled and stored according to food safety guidelines.

· Learn about food service operations in a resort: The Food Service Intern will learn about various aspects of food service operations, including menu planning, food costing, and inventory management.

· Assist with the implementation of new food services strategies.

· Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth guest experiences.

· Handle guest complaints or issues and escalate them to the appropriate person as necessary.

· Perform other duties as assigned by the food service supervisor.

· Will work closely with our Food Service management team to ensure that you will meet your requirements, as set forth from your college or university.

Requirements:

· Currently enrolled in a culinary or hospitality program or related field of study.

· Knowledge of food safety and sanitation guidelines.

· Serv Safe Certified

· Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure.

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

· Ability to work well in a team environment.

· Professional demeanor and appearance.

· Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively

· Basic computer skills.

· Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift 50 pounds.

· Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

The Food Service Intern will gain valuable experience and knowledge of the food service industry, as well as receive training in food safety and sanitation. You will receive on-the-job training in all aspects of running a restaurant: customer service, reservations, POS (point of sale) application, managing a team, money handling and deposits. You will have the opportunity to have your voice heard by making recommendations for improving food service processes and guest experiences.
