SOUTH FLORIDA WATER MANAGEMENT DISTRICT is Hiring an ELECTRONICS LOGISTICS TECH 2 Near Beach, FL

This position aids internal/external customers and service providers on all aspects of electronic equipment, service, logistics and customer support to maintain and enhance the District’s monitoring network and SCADA infrastructure. Plans and schedules daily tasks and performs logistical requirements and scheduling of activities based on a partnership with key staff. Follows a tactical schedule that meets the preventative maintenance work plan and emergency maintenance.
Helps to establish, implement, and modify a computerized electronic barcoding inventory control system. Helps to develop, modify, and implement a system to determine appropriate equipment and maintenance response to equipment malfunctions. Uses established control systems to move electronic equipment and parts in a timely and cost-effective manner, including purchasing, tagging, tracking, inventorying, reconciling, moving, and disposing of assets. Maintains instrumentation and vehicle inventories.
Uses knowledge of inventorying techniques to enhance equipment distribution procedures. Keeps abreast of new procedures for logistics, inventory control, and warehouse. Orders/acquires parts or replacement equipment to keep systems operating at top efficiency.
Has strong customer support and working knowledge of the District's responsibilities and a sense of the volume of equipment, parts and supplies required to operate and maintain the District’s SCADA field infrastructure. Exhibits a high level of attention to detail and accuracy in recording transactions related to the SCADA field infrastructure. Is knowledgeable of enterprise-wide business processes and skilled in using the system to record transactions. Is knowledgeable in warehousing and inventory control techniques. Has the ability to effectively use scanners.
Applies extensive knowledge of techniques to manage assets to accomplish the cyclical inventory planning and reporting requirements of the District. Has considerable knowledge of procurement procedures for purchasing, classifying, and disposing of equipment, parts and supplies. Is detailed oriented with the ability to plan and implement multistage projects. Work is performed independently. May require travel to conduct business at remote locations.
Work Hours:
Work hours are Monday - Thursday from 6:00 am to 4:30 pm, off on Friday.
This position may be filled at the lower level: Electronics Logistics Tech 1.
Employment Guidelines
Electronics Logistics Tech 2: Associate's Degree in Electronics, Electronics Technology, and/or Business and 4 years’ experience facilitating and maintaining an asset/inventory control system that included, at least, two (2) plus years customer support experience in electronic components, parts and equipment.

Licenses:
State of Florida Driver's License
Working Environment:
Due to the District's response role and in the total scope of emergency management, this position may at times, be required to provide support before, during and after major storm events and emergency situations, such as hurricanes or other declared emergencies, depending on assigned emergency response role.
Composition of office and field work (percentage dependent upon position requirements), with regular exposure to a hot and humid environment in remote and heavy vegetative areas.
