Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Elementary Teacher to join our 4th grade team for the 2024-2025 academic year. The ideal candidate will embrace the Charlotte Mason philosophy, demonstrating a deep understanding of its principles and a commitment to nurturing the intellectual, spiritual, and emotional growth of each student. This position reports directly to the Director of Teaching.

Employee Status & Compensation:

Start Date: August 2, 2024

Status: 1.0 FTE; 10-month position, 40 hours/week based on class schedule

Salary Range: $40,000 – $50,000 commensurate with education and qualified experience for 1.0 (or the equivalent of) full time employees

Primary Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons incorporating living books, narration, and hands-on activities.
• Create a positive and respectful classroom environment that encourages curiosity and a love for learning.
• Establish strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to support a collaborative and supportive learning community.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to continuously enhance teaching skills and stay updated on educational best practices.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field
• Valid teaching certification for elementary education is preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Passion for creating a positive and nurturing learning environment.
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students.
