**Job Overview:**

South Carolina Center for Integrative Medicine seeks a full-time Medical Assistant to join our team of healthcare professionals in Columbia, SC. Excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills required. Prior medical office experience is preferred, but not necessary. We are willing to train the right person for the position. This position is full-time, Monday through Friday, from 8:30am to 5:30pm.

**Duties:**

- Perform clinical duties, including taking vital signs, preparing patients for examinations, and assisting with procedures.

- Documenting patient’s health history, maintenance, and chief complaint.

- Produce and distribute correspondence memos, letters, faxes, and forms.

- Prepare and clean treatment rooms and medical instruments.

- Produce and distribute correspondence memos, letters, faxes, and forms.

- Handle administrative tasks such as medication refills, prior authorizations, out-patient testing, and referrals.

**Job Requirements**

- High school diploma or GED required

- Medical Assistant certificate or currently enrolled in a medical, nursing or pharmacy program, preferred.

- Proven working experience as a Medical Assistant, preferred.

- Working knowledge of medical terminology and EHR systems, preferred.

- Proficiency in MS Office, Adobe, and patient management software.

- Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.

**Physical Requirements**

- Required to sit, walk, climb stairs, reach with hands and arms throughout workday.

- Finger dexterity and hand coordination required. Must have a steady hand for administering intramuscular injections.

- Occasionally required to lift moderate weight (20-40 pounds).

- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust or focus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
