About the role:

As our sole HR Generalist, you'll wear many hats and tackle a wide range of HR responsibilities daily. From recruiting top talent to managing benefits administration and everything in between, you'll be the go-to person for all things related to HR.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned by management.

  • Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and programs in alignment with company objectives.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all HR-related inquiries and issues.
  • Handle employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and grievance procedures.
  • Manage the entire employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding to offboarding.
  • Manage talent acquisition efforts for the company.
  • Completes personnel transactions and maintains associated records.
  • Support team leads/managers in identifying staffing needs and defining position descriptions for identified staff needs.
  • Conduct annual benefits analysis for open enrollment, prepare recommendations for benefits changes or updates based on the analysis, and present recommendations to the leadership team for approval.
  • Manage the relationship with a Professional Employer Organization (PEO) for benefits administration and other HR services.
  • Support managers in the performance management process by providing guidance on conducting performance evaluations and delivering constructive feedback to employees.
  • Coordinate training and development initiatives to enhance employee skills and performance.
  • Manage the exit interview process and present insights gathered to the leadership team.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and ensure compliance with all relevant employment laws and regulations.
  • Handles complex issues and problems.
  • Stay updated on HR best practices and industry trends to continuously improve HR processes.
  • Plans, coordinates, and executes employee events, such as team-building activities, recognition programs, company outings, and holiday celebrations.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field OR equivalent years of relevant experience.
  • 5 years of experience in HR roles, with a strong understanding of all HR functions.
  • Experience working at small businesses preferred.
  • Experience with government contracting and/or professional services companies preferred.
  • Proficiency in employment laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Performs work under minimal supervision.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and HRIS systems.
  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is preferred but not required.
  • Work arrangement: hybrid with the requirement to travel 2 days to the Johnstown, PA office.
  • Travel requirements: 5%
  • Security Clearance: the ability to acquire clearance.

What We Offer:

  • Salary $70,000 - $85,000 commensurate experience. Please provide your expectations when submitting your resume.
