SOS Recovery Community Organization is Hiring a Recovery Center Coordinator Near Exeter, NH

JOB TITLE: Recovery Center Coordinator

FLSA CLASSIFICATION: Hourly non-exempt

The Recovery Support Coordinator works within our peer-based recovery centers providing support for our participants. This is a 32 hour position and is a "full-time equivalent" benefits eligible opportunity. Includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 12 weeks paid family leave, a retirement plan with a 50% match up to 6% and paid time off and holidays.

This position works in maintaining a trauma-informed space supporting individuals with recovery supports and harm reduction programs and services. This is a non-clinical position and individuals with lived experience in recovery and those who may have lived experience with being involved in the criminal justice system involved are encouraged to apply.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES:

· Greet members who walk into our recovery centers, answer center phones, engage compassionately and enthusiastically with participants who are in our recovery centers,

· Maintain a safe and trauma informed space within our recovery centers that is orderly and centers the experiences of our community, participants, and volunteers.

· Input all necessary data accurately and accordingly in spreadsheet and appropriate data platforms.

· Report in a timely and punctual manner to appropriately support our participants and be prepared and available both physically and emotionally to serve participants at the start of all scheduled shifts.

· Engage compassionately, enthusiastically and with empathy with the community, volunteers, and all participants in and outside our recovery centers, at events, during training, and with community stakeholders.

· Provide a supportive environment that welcomes and encourages a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice for those marginalized, especially the LGBTQIA community and Black, Indigenous, and people of color.

· Provide members with harm reduction materials such as sterile syringes, safer smoking supplies, wound care who are seeking safe supplies and overdose prevention materials.

· Keep harm reduction room and overdose prevention supplies adequately stocked.

· Check email daily, maintain communication on internal staff communications platforms (i.e., Slack).

· Connect and encourage participants to resources while honoring their self-directed goals.

· Refer participants whenever possible and appropriate to an engagement specialist to support their wellness and recovery.

· Maintain housekeeping within the building you’re working in.

· Handle and file member mail and administrative duties appropriately.

· Check the perimeter of the building regularly to create a warm and inviting environment for our community.

· Host and/or moderate chat in our digital meetings and document the meetings and attendance accordingly.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS/ABILITIES:

Excellently demonstrated listening skills and a high level of social and emotional intelligence.

Demonstrated ability to work with participants compassionately and empathically.

A State of NH, Certified Recovery Support Worker (CRSW) credential is preferred and will be required within 6 months of hiring.

Formal training and proficiency in Motivational Interviewing skills will need to be demonstrated within 12 months of hiring.

A basic understanding of harm reduction principles and the ability to support them.

Working knowledge of a variety of addiction recovery modalities and ability to articulate, support and respect the delivery of multiple pathways of recovery in a community-based setting. Flexibility is required as weekly scheduling will vary and will regularly include Saturdays.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma/NH High School Equivalency (HiSET) preferred or ability to obtain within 6 months.

Experience in peer-based recovery support services, harm-reduction preferred and/or previous experience within the substance use disorder treatment field.

Preference will be given to SOS volunteers recovery who have experience and documented hours of training and recovery or harm reduction support service experience.

Certificate of completion for The Art & Science of Peer Assisted Recovery® (PAR) or equivalent, as well as completion of Ethical Considerations for Peer-Assisted Recovery or equivalent is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

· Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

· Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.50 - $20.00 per hour
