Director of Development

Job Description

The Director of Development will be responsible for planning and implementing a comprehensive fundraising program that includes major gifts, corporate and foundation giving, recurring giving, planned giving, and special events. The successful candidate will work closely with the Executive Director and Executive Team to develop fundraising goals and strategies and will manage a team of fundraising professionals. They will be responsible for raising project funds as well as the stewardship of donors and engaging them in the ministry of SOS.

Key Responsibilities:

· Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising plan.

· Manage and lead a team of fundraising professionals.

· Build and steward relationships with existing donors as well as cultivating new donors.

· Collaborate with the Executive Director and Executive Team to ensure that fundraising goals and strategies are being achieved.

· Monitor and Analyze Fundraising Data to evaluate performance and iterate as needed.

· In Collaboration with the team, lead out in Special Event planning and sponsorship.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in related field

· Minimum of 5 years non-profit fundraising experience

· Excellent Written and Oral Communications

· Strong Leadership and Management Skills

· Experience with Caseload Management

· Experience with Fundraising Software and Salesforce for Nonprofits

· Deep commitment to the organizations mission and values

· Strategic thinking and problem solving skills
